Kalathos is located 44 km from the city of Rhodes and 5 km from Lindos.

The village's name is associated with the wonderfully quiet sandy beach. Essentially the beach is considered one of the largest on the island and is fully organized. The pebble and sand, combined with the shallow and crystal clear water attract many visitors, who are seeking peace and quiet. The area has many rooms, canteens, supermarkets and a few restaurants. However, Lindos is very close for more amenities.

Noting that the village is quite small and maintains the tradition, nevertheless the inhabitants moved to neighboring villages to work. The area in the Middle Ages served as a farming and rangeland of Lindos. In the village there is a wonderful bay of Vlicha, which is a major attraction in summer. Remarkable is the dug in the rock church of Virgin Mary.
