The village Salakos is 38km away from the town of Rhodes, built at the foot of the second highest mountain of Rhodes, the Prophet Elias.
Salakos is a perfect combination of mountain and sea. It offers an incredible feeling because of its rich vegetation and clean water flowing from its sources. A village with small streets and houses, cobbled floors and lots of trees. Salakos is the ideal place for families because of the climate. Nearby is the beach Kameiros
It also has great archaeological interest, since its habitation goes back to ancient times. It is worth visiting the monastery of Prophet Elias and the Byzantine churches of Agios Georgios and Agios Nikolaos.
Near the square is also a folklore museum. What draws attention are the sources of the village. Around Salako were many sources but now remained only three: Nymph, Vrisi and Pigadia.
